Infrared Wireless Communication on the ThinkPad 390E

Infrared Wireless Communication

Linux-IrDA is currently under active development and is actually looking pretty good. Thus far basic printing and file transfer functionality seems to be working and the core developers are already working on getting sockets to work. The code has been included in the 2.2 distribution, but you will need the supporting user level utilities.

As soon as I find an infrared device to talk to, there'll be more to add. :) I'm interested in hearing from anyone who uses IrDA regularly from Linux on their Thinkpad 390.
