SAM members are not only involved in the club, but are active
participants in Arizona RC modelling! Of special note is the large
SAM turnout at the Central Arizona Modeler's Float Fly in Cottonwood
Arizona, and the Desert Hawk's London Bridge Float Fly in Lake Havasu
City. A group of float-flyers from our club has been attending these
events for the past 5 years, and each year the group has been getting
larger. This is a nice
vacation not only for our club flyers but also for their families or
significant others. This type of
"extra-curricular" activity is something special that our club has to
offer.

A picture of a not-too-busy flight line late on a windy March
morning. This was before we got the pavement. |

Another flight line image a few weeks later. Yup, it's still
sunny. Who brought that crosswind? :) |

Just another nice sunny Sunday at the SAM field. This photo was
taken in July 1998, not long after we paved a portion of the runway.
Mmmmm, pavement. :) |

Marv's 1/4-scale Piper Cub on floats at the Cottonwood Float-Fly.
It's a lot of fun -- you should go! |

Has anyone seen this plane? Marv purchased it in early 96
and flew it around the pattern exactly two time and gave it to Jerry.
He flew it a couple of times and gave it to someone else. it hasn't
been seen since. Looks like a beaut!
